my second post for this month~!

so remember my resolutions for 2010?

no, probably not.

well, out of all those, I managed to fulfill.... none. FML.

so, for 2011, i'll incorporate the old ones with new ones.

my 2011 won't be focused around what I need to change.

i'll just have to make sure it's kick-ass.

Happy New Year. akemashite omedetou~!

/ *maybe, somehow, i'll make things different.
*also, i hate cleaning.

SnapIt is an easy to use screen capture software which allows you to easily capture
anything on the screen including windows, menus, full screen, rectangular regions,
web pages and take shots of moving images.

- Supports hotkeys, auto-saving, clipboard
- Automatically copies screenshots to the clipboard
- Tracks capture history, auto-saves captured images
- Saves files in BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG and TIFF formats
- Auto-names captured images

i have yet to try it out, but it sounds promising. XD

our summer is screeching to a close.

and what kind of summer break would it be if we never went to teh pool or beach at least once?

that sounds like my summer for the past 7 years, actually.

well, perfectly timed with the news of my friends' successful summer classes, we went to Mt. Uragay. [it's a pool. an ice-cold one.] *shiver*

though we were incomplete, and i didn't know half the group [i didn't take summer classes] i had uber-fun.

but the problem remains.

this is my third trip swimming and i'm still not comfortable in the water.

maybe i should take swimming lessons again?

nah. doing laps in a pool of other people's misery should do the trick.

so while i practice, here are a few pics.

Doses of Sanity

Posted by Janus On 9:18 PM 0 comments

a friend sent over this quote a few days ago.

coz it helps to be sane... sometimes.

1. Enjoy life. There's plenty of time to be dead.
2. Sometimes, nobody cares if you're miserable. So you might as well be happy.
3. If you can't solve it, it's not a problem - it's reality.
4. Happiness is like perfume. You can't pour it on others without getting a few drops on yourself.
5. If all good things come to an end, then don't worry - all bad things will eventually end too.

Now, here are my views on these doses.

1. I agree. Death takes up A LOT of your time.
2. I disagree. I don't want people to care about me when I'm miserable.
3. I agree. Reality sucks.
4. I disagree. Happiness is like perfume. You avoid it when someone forces it on you.
5. I agree. You know, like, nightmares and dreams. Analogy please?

Yeah, I'm a miserable, contradicting, insane little sadist. :D

/* it took me this long to post something since last month. suicidal much?
* summer's boring at home.
* at least i has my laptop :D
* i miss my friends :( */

The BEST Year Ender.

Posted by Janus On 11:18 PM 0 comments

i love my friends.

you know, the ones that shift your mood from SUICIDAL [refer to previous post] to OVERJOYED.

i was distraught, depressed, and any other negative adjective in my vocabulary.

all it took was one phone call to turn my WORST year ender into the BEST year ender.

and in a span of 10 minutes, i found myself in front of the Cebu Grand Convention Center.

and not only did i get to enjoy a mini-reunion, but i got free food as well XD

'twas the best "what the hell is going on!?" moment EVAR.

/* to my other batchmates, see you in two years or sooner. :D
* this was the first time i crashed a graduation. XD
* why doesn't this happen to me moar often? */

The WORST Year Ender.

in the true spirit of reality, we not only had to survive FINALS WEEK but DEFENSE WEEK as well.

or as i like to call it: MASSACRE WEEK.

the TECHNICAL WRITING one was ok. we got a good grade.

the SAD defense was harsh.

we already had so many mistakes before it even started.

as it progressed, things went more smoothly though.
[except for two of our members. fingerscrossed.]

what really shook me up was the VB defense.

it was more of a test than a defense. but it was definitely, in no way, more comforting.

i sat there as mistake upon mistake piled onto my test paper.

witnessing your errors first-hand is incredibly painful.

i spent many a night scavenging from myself and others for codes.

and during our last encoding session...

... my final changes that made my program almost complete...

... weren't even saved.

i leave this ____.

Lights Out.

Posted by Janus On 7:09 PM 1 comments

does this mean we can still turn on our electric fans? [coz la mn mi aircon XD]

and that our laptops [or netbooks -_-] can stay on but with low brightness?

ever since 2008, earth hour has become an amazing, global phenomenon.

what started out as one city's stand against global warming inspired our whole world.

this is our chance to save energy...

... to show that we care...

... to take a stand...

... and to live in the dark for at least 60 minutes. :D

so tonight, turn off your lights.

maybe even unplug your electrical appliances. [coz they're still eating while asleep. gluttons.]

i support Earth Hour.

let's make the Panda proud.

need moar info?

[it's the Philippines sub-site but you can navigate your way to the main one right?]

Tired, weary, and over fatigued. They were wasted, drunk on determination to beat the deadline until it bled internally and externally. After encountering that avalanche of work, consecutive sleepless nights, and irritable mornings, afternoons, and evenings, they doubted life would get any easier.

how does one go about explaining COSPLAY?

when you see their outrageous outfits, will you deem it INSANITY?

when you see them perform, will you call it MODERN ART?

when you see the people cheer, would that make it a COMPETITION?

no matter what you call it, COSPLAY will always be COSPLAY.

there will always be cosplayers, and fans alike. [im hoping to be both :D]

it will always be about the costumes, props, and the fun they have dressing up and the fun we have watching them strut around bringing life to our favorite characters.

February 21, 2010. This day was a WIN.

/*want moar pics? add me up on facebook: jm_ilano@yahoo.com
